*starts humming Nick Cave’s We Call Upon The Author To Explain*
My name is Cara. I am an autistic adult in my thirties, and I live in Chicago with my roommate and cats. I was originally diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, which has now been folded into Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I refer to myself as autistic or as a spectrumite – very, very rarely I will use the term Aspie, mostly when I’m feeling fried.
I am a licensed attorney, in Illinois. Yes, I can prove that, as well as proving my diagnosis. Though if you ask me to, frankly, it creates a just-barely-rebuttable presumption that you’re offensive and ableist.
I have a particular love for the First Amendment, immigration law, criminal law (I want to be a prosecutor someday) and historical cases. For a long time, criminology was a *~special interest~* of mine, so criminal law is the natural next step.
I am in the process of becoming Jewish, with classes officially starting in December. My opinions on Israel are ambivalent, so don’t ask.
I have a BS tolerance of approximately zero. I will call people out, and you have been warned. If you’re here in good faith, you’ll be treated that way. And if you have any questions, leave me a comment on this page!
